  2. It was simple enough to put a shortcut in the appropriate StartUp folder so that Noise would be launched when the user logged in to the desktop. My question has to do with whether it will function OK when launched like that.

    The little window for the Noise program provides a text box where you can type in a few characters. I’m guessing that Noise may send those characters periodically in an effort to prevent unwanted sleep activity. I presume that those keystrokes go no place where they would do anything; they just need to happen for the Noise program to perform it’s function.

    When you have it launch automatically from a StartUp folder, you are unlikely to then go visit the program’s window and type anything in that box. Does that matter, or does the program come up with some keystrokes to send all on its own. Some of my testing suggests that it will indeed do that.
